With an eye toward the future and an expectation that we will continue our leadership on education policy matters, the Roundtable’s Board of Directors approved a plan this spring to create a 501(c)(3) public benefit non-profit corporation, which shall work to ”ensure a continuum of high quality educational experiences to prepare children and families to be productive citizens in a global economy (from prenatal through post-secondary and higher education.)” Among other things, the Foundation will promote a variety of charitable and educational activities that enrich the education and welfare of the children of the State of Vermont and their families.
The inaugural Board of Directors includes the following individuals: Steve Voigt, CEO, King Arthur Flour; Mary Powell, CEO, Green Mountain Power; Greg Bourgea, Co-managing Partner, Gallagher Flynn & Co.; Sr. Janice Ryan, President Emerita, Trinity College; and, Jeffrey Francis, Executive Director, Vermont Superintendents Association. Lisa Ventriss, President, will staff the organization. Thank you to Elizabeth Kleinberg and Brian Murphy, Dinse Knapp & McAndrew, who provided the legal services on this project.
