VBR Foundation Elects Officers

The VBR Research and Education Foundation held its first organizational meeting and elected new officers including: Chair – Tim Donovan, Chancellor of Vermont State Colleges; Secretary – Jeff Francis, Executive Director of Vermont Superintendents Association; and Treasurer – Sr. Janice Ryan, President Emeritus, Trinity College (Vermont). Other directors include: Mary Powell, CEO, Green Mountain Power and Steve Voigt, President and CEO, King Arthur Flour. Also at the meeting the Board voted to approve the Staff Director’s job description and extended an offer to retain Mary Barrosse Schwartz in that position.

The Foundation is separate but related to the Vermont Business Roundtable, and was formed as a 501(c)(3) in 2012 to: 1) promote a variety of charitable and educational activities that enrich the education and welfare of the children of the State of Vermont and their families; and, 2) to ensure a continuum of high quality educational experiences to prepare children and families to be productive citizens in a global economy (from prenatal through post-secondary and higher education).
