On September 11th as the nation paused to remember events of 15 years ago, the Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG) held a Flag Retreat ceremony to honor those lost on that day, and inducted a new class of Honorary Commanders. Colonel Patrick Guinee, 158th Fighter Wing Commander and Roundtable member, presided over the ceremonies.
Newly-inducted into the program were Roundtable members:
- Lisa Ventriss, Honorary Commander of the 158th Fighter Wing
- Win Smith, Honorary Commander of the 158th Maintenance Group
- Tommy Harmon, Honorary Commander of the 158th Engineering Squadron
Also inducted were: Kevin Owens of Select Design, Honorary Vice-Commander of the 158th Fighter Wing and Jack Russell of Century 21 Jack Associates, Honorary Commander of the 158th Mission Support Group.
They join previously inducted Roundtable members, Frank Cioffi, Honorary Commander for the 134th Fighter Squadron and Ernie Pomerleau, Honorary Commander of the 158th Operations Group.
The Honorary Commander program is designed to develop stronger connections between business leaders and the Vermont National Air Guard that can benefit the communities they serve and the state at large.
