Vermont Talent Pipeline Partners with VMEC to Address Supply if Manufacturing Workforce Skills [2.6.23]

South Burlington VT – Vermont  Talent Pipeline Management (VTPM) and Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) have teamed up to advance employer-driven workforce solutions. The partnership represents a dedication to manufacturing as a critical sector requiring focus to build capacity and efficiencies in talent sourcing and developing essential skills. VMEC is now the host organization of Vermont Talent Pipeline Management for the Manufacturing Sector.

Patrick Boyle, VMEC Center Director and CEO stated, “We are delighted to partner with Vermont Talent Pipeline Management and Vermont Business Roundtable to address critical skills for Vermont manufacturers. We see this collaboration as another example in fulfilling the VMEC mission.”

Said Mary Anne Sheahan, Chief Talent Officer, VTPM “VMEC is poised to act as the neutral convening host for manufacturing and to take workforce solutions to the next level with Vermont’s manufacturers.” Since 2018, VTPM has organized more than 90 Vermont manufacturers, 36 construction employers and 72 health care organizations, each industry convened around shared hiring needs.

Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) is a national workforce framework that uses supply chain principles to fill the talent gap. TPM was developed by the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation in 2015 to help employers lead the way in addressing talent gaps. “Understanding Vermont Manufacturing Job Demand has helped regional training providers create demand-driven solutions. With today’s labor shortage, launching worker-centric programs that upskill and retain good employees builds a sustainable Manufacturing Career Ladder.”

Talent Pipeline Management is complementary in supporting manufacturers to promote workforce opportunities and help fill skills gaps.
