(So. Burlington, VT) Today, Lisa Ventriss, President of Vermont Business Roundtable (Roundtable) announced the recipient of the Roundtable’s 2017 New Medallion Award, which recognizes exceptional school leadership and progress toward the state’s goals of equity, access, and quality of proficiency-based learning experiences for all Vermont students.
According to Michael Seaver, Chair of the Roundtable’s Board of Directors, “For 15 years the Roundtable annually recognized educational leaders for the innovative and creative ways in which they delivered excellence in the whole educational experience, despite increasing social and economic pressures at the state and local levels. Now in the era of Acts 77 and 46, the Roundtable believes it is all the more important to recognize exceptional, innovative leadership that best prepares our students for college and career readiness. So, this year it gives us great pleasure to announce the 2017 winner is Ms. Jen Olson, Work-based Learning Coordinator from Hazen Union High School.”
The New Medallion Award, which includes a framed certificate and $5,000 monetary prize to be directed by Ms. Olson in furtherance of her work, was presented to her at a school-wide assembly on January 3rd.
